After much research I finally bought the Dewalt Table Saw stand. I had read the reviews but more than that I have owned the Dewalt Miter Saw stand since it hit the market (still the best stand currently being sold). This stand looked very much like the same technology but better! It is highly compact. It is made out of all high quality materials. The stand is a design masterpiece. I mounted a Makita 8" table saw with a Rousseau Porta Max Jr. extension table on it. We had to add some runners to the bottom of the saw to match up with the mounting rails for the stand. That was it. We mounted everything up and gave the saw the big test. We ripped full sheets of 3/4" treated plywood with the saw with no problem. I would have never attempted this with the stand the saw came with. I used to use my foot to try and keep the saw from tipping over when we tried the big rip. The saw and new stand didn't budge. I even tried to knock the saw over but that would be very hard to do. Thanks to the splayed legs in the back of the stand. This is what gives the stand such great stability. As far as portability you can either disengage the saw from the stand by simply squeezing two hand grips or you can fold up the stand and store it flat against the wall (with the saw attached). There is a pull out handle that aids in wheeling the saw around as well as a rail system that holds the saw upright when folded closed. The miter saw stand has these spring loaded balls that snapped into holes to lock the legs either opened or closed. Sometimes we had to spray those spring loaded balls with WD-40 to make them operate freely. They have done away with that problem by having nice release handles to compress the little metal balls for locking the legs. One person can easily fold and unfold the saw and move it from place to place. We even changed the location in a driveway by just pulling the handle out and rolling the saw. My 12 plus year old Makita saw has now gotten new life and will see much more cutting. I used to field rip large sheets into easier to handle dimensions with a circular saw. Now that won't be necessary. I used to save the bigger cuts for my Delta 10" Contractor saw in my shop. Now I will be able to do alot of those cuts in the field with great ease and a small footprint when storing my saw at the jobsite. Do yourself a favor to keep the rubber feet from slipping of the legs - shoot a single self tapping screw through each of the the rubber feet into the leg of the stand. We almost lost one of the rubber feet off my miter saw stand and this proved to be an effective solution. I have historically been a yellow tool hater but these stands couldn't be better. Although if I were to buy a new portable table saw I would highly consider the new Dewalt. It looks well thought out.
2.) Everybody should be taking lessons on this portable stand!

It's about time some body came up with a truly "portable" table saw stand. This stand is so portable, it takes the back breaking task, (for one person), to load/unload a so called portable table saw in and out of a pickup or van by themself!!! I have to admit, I'm not much of a Dewalt fan, but my hat is certainly off to whom ever got this setup right. Talk about knockin one out of the park! I'm a full time carpenter, 7 days a week, who loads and unloads tools out of pickups and or cargo trailers every day, and this stand just made my life so much better. I can only hope that all you people doing this kind of work, will take a good hard look at this stand. You'll thank yourself for getting one. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this stand other than, what took you so long?! p.s. this technology would rock if used to redesign the DW723 miter saw stand!

I bought the Saw Stand in December of '08. I didn't really like the assembly instructions but got it together okay. The stand is used for my Dewalt 10" table saw just as it was intended. It was a good match and I am totally satisfied with both the saw and the stand. All of the comments that I have read have been positive and reviewers have given it five stars. I concur and give it five stars as well. It goes from storage to setup with ease and I can move it around with ease. The balance of the saw and stand together is phenomenal. The handle for pushing and pulling the stand around on the wheels is just the right size and tucks out of the way when you don't need it. I can move the whole package up and down the step (into and out of the shop) with ease. I have never felt out of control when moving the saw around. (I use a couple of small bungee cords to keep the blade cover in place while moving the stand around.) I am now considering selling my Craftsman Table Saw and Radial Arm saw - that should add a lot of room to my shop.
Would I buy another one? For sure. Was it worth the money? I think so.

This stand works exactly as the directions state. I have found it very easy to use and wish I had this stand from the time; when I bought the dewalt 744s table saw. I am 100 percent satisfied with this product.

Received the stand very quickly after oredring. Assembled easily. Remember to install the storage location for the allen wrench!! Put the axle bolts with the head out instead of in. But the ease with which the stands sets up and takes down is very handy. Makes using the table saw all the more handy. I put my DeWalt table saw on it. I can now put it up, cut what pieces I need, work all day with it, whatever and put it down for storage to be able to get the cars in the garage very quickly. Very satisfied with the stand.

This is a great stand. I have a porter cable 3812 10" table saw mounted to this super stand. I love it. Super stable and easy to set up. Very high build quality, but be careful to not lose the rubber feet if working in the snow/ ice/ mud. I may have to glue mine on.
Highly recommended.

I have always used the stand that came with my DEWALT saw. I did not like setting it up on the stand it came with. It always seemed the saw was to much for it. When I seen the DW744ORS Rolling stand I grab one and now the saw is a snap to set up and is much stronger than the X type that came with the saw. From the time I pull it out till the time I'm ready to cut is a fraction of the time. Also when the job is done it's nice to just fold it up in one unit roll it to the truck and be done instead of having to carry both units to the truck. Also the saw will snap right off and set on rubber feet built into the base of the legs that mount the saw to the rolling unit
10.) Ingenious details in its design
Reviewed by: Alexander K. Chung Wichita, Kansas, USA

Clever design details abound. I was trying to figure out the sequence of folding the legs, and realized that it doesn't matter, they will nestle with each other just fine either way.
That alone tells me that someone really clever was sitting at the drafting table coming up with this design.
It's solid, and all the structural parts are metal, including the yellow "skirts." Nothing but good quality aluminum extrusions and steel stampings. And it works as it should.
Also, it's easy to detach the table saw from the stand without using any tools. The two yellow brackets stay bolted to the table saw.
If I had the money, I would buy one of these stands for each of my bench top tools. It deserves a place in the Permanent Design Collection at New York Museum of Modern Art.
11.) Finally!!! No more lifting!!!

Best possible saw stand for any compact table saw. They really hit a home run with this design. I'm chucking my old fold up stand that I bought several years ago out to the scrap metal pile. Once you get your saw fastened to this stand...just leave it there, and cart it to where ever it is you want to go. No more lifting and carrying my table saw to the job sight for me.
12.) Stronger Than I Thought
Reviewed by: Kevin California

This stand is much stronger than I thought it would be. Really makes my table saw much more portable. Kind of strange though how the rear legs stick out at a different angle, maybe it adds more stability, I'm not sure. Also the instructions could have more pictures showing how to combine the bolts and washers, but I was able to figure it out.
I have the Dewalt DW745 table saw and the instructions say to remove the 745's rubber feet and mount the saw's metal frame to the stand's metal mounting bracket. I added some rubber washers so there wouldn't be metal on metal, which would eventually scratch up the paint on both parts. I think this was a good idea and surprised Dewalt didn't think of it.
Overall this rolling table saw stand is well worth the price!

I have really enjoyed this product, however on the advertisement it is shown as a Rolling Saw Stand and I saw a picture with a Miter Saw attached to it, which is why I purchased it. Now that I'm in possesion of both the saw and stand I realize that they won't work together. It appears as though this stand is table saw compatible only.
